No limits to a mother’s love, a wrestler’s determination

Judy Robles was 16 when she found out she was pregnant with her first child, who would later be born with only one leg. As Anthony Robles grew, his mom realized that he defied limitations — "he was going to figure things out." Anthony went on to become an NCAA champion wrestler at ASU, and his life story is now the focus of a new Amazon Prime movie, “Unstoppable."

When Natasha Adair drove to the basket for a layup one October night in 1990, her future was right in front of her. She was a high school senior being recruited by more than 200 college coaches. But as she landed on the court and heard the pop in her knee, everything changed. Adair couldn’t have known then, but that injury headed her down a path that would eventually lead her to become the women’s basketball coach at ASU. “People often ask me if I would change what happened,” she said. “No. It made me who I am.”

Rich Neuheisel joins Alliance football

New spring football league announces head coach for Phoenix team

The Alliance of American Football today announced the new coach for its Arizona team. Rick Neuheisel, a Tempe native, will coach the team in the new spring football league. “What a thrill to be back home,” he said. “It’s totally an exciting time for the Neuheisel family.” The professional league's Phoenix Alliance team will begin play at Arizona State University's Sun Devil Stadium next February, the week after the Super Bowl.

Math has been John Douglas (J.D.) House’s favorite subject since he was eight years old. He is now 20 years old and graduating with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics after only three years at Arizona State University.

Through a community collaboration with Adaptive Training Foundation, Arizona State University launched Devils Adapt, an initiative that aims to provide resources and opportunities in recreational and competitive adaptive sports.

Pat's Run, the annual fundraising event to support the Pat Tillman Foundation’s Tillman Scholars program, drew thousands of runners and supporters to Tempe on April 21. The 4.2 mile run/walk finished on the north side of Arizona State University's Sun Devil Stadium with a race expo and after-party.
