Editor's note: This event has been canceled.
Alex Taylor, president and CEO of Cox Enterprises, will speak at the Economic Club of Phoenix luncheon on Thursday, March 12, at the Camelback Golf Club in Scottsdale from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Members of the public are invited to attend the event, which is hosted by Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business. Taylor, who heads the communications, media and automotive services company, oversees $21 billion in annual revenues and more than 55,000 employees worldwide.
During his career at Cox, Taylor has held numerous leadership positions, including managing Cox Media Group, where he presided over its largest television, radio, newspaper and digital properties. He serves on Cox Enterprises’ board of directors and is the great-grandson of James M. Cox, who founded the company in 1898.
He began his career as a reporter for the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel in Colorado and received his bachelor’s degree in human and organizational development from Vanderbilt University.
The Dean’s Council, a group of prominent business executives, founded the Economic Club of Phoenix in January 1985 in conjunction with the W. P. Carey School of Business. Thirty-five years later, the club remains the premier luncheon speaker series in the Valley designed to enhance the discussion of economic and business, labor and public sectors in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
