Martin Matustik, professor of philosophy and religious studies at Arizona State University's New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, has been awarded the Lady Davis Fellowship at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he will be a visiting professor in fall 2018. Currently serving as the director of the Center for Critical Theory and Cultural Studies, Matustik will pursue writing on the topic of memory and unforgiveness in the context of social and religious conflicts.

He's currently developing, and will offer at the Hebrew University, a graduate seminar on issues of death and dying with a focus on interfaith and secular practices of mindfulness and care.

Matustik's research and teaching specialties range from critical theory, continental philosophy, phenomenology and existentialism to post-Holocaust and reparative ethics and East-Central European thought.

The Lady Davis Fellowship Trust was established in 1973 to provide an opportunity for visiting professors, post-doctoral researchers and doctoral students from abroad, regardless of nationality, gender or field of scholarship to teach, study and participate in research in Israel at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and at the Technion Institute of Technology in Haifa.
