Thunderbird School of Global Management’s Online Master of Global Management program ranks No. 6 in the world in the 2017 QS Distance Online MBA Ranking released Wednesday — and No. 3 in the world for recruiter reputation. QS is the leading global career and education network “for ambitious professionals.”

Thunderbird, a unit of the Arizona State University Knowledge Enterprise, offers its Online MGM program in a variety of durations and delivery combinations to suit each individual’s goals and lifestyle. The program curriculum is delivered 100 percent online and can be completed in as few as five semesters. Students also may add in-person elements to their experience by beginning or ending the program on Thunderbird’s campus or by participating in an applied learning practicum abroad.

“Seeing Thunderbird’s Online MGM among this impressive set of MBA schools is a true testament to the quality of the program and its graduates,” said Allen J. Morrison, Thunderbird CEO and director general. “Scoring the No. 3 spot for recruiter reputation is proof positive that employers recognize the unique and incomparable value of a specialized Thunderbird education and the global mind-set that is inherent in all T-bird grads.”

Founded in 1990, QS (aka Quacquarelli Symonds), facilitator of the website www.topmba.com and the QS World MBA Tour, is a leading global provider of higher education and careers information, independent research and solutions. It conducts one of the world's largest annual surveys of MBA employers to discover which business schools they believe are best.

“QS Distance Online MBA ranking is unique in evaluating opportunities for interaction with classmates and professors, as well as looking at the reputation with employers,” said Nunzio Quacquarelli, QS CEO. The QS Distance Online MBA Rankings rate the world’s top 40 programs, with Thunderbird one of only two new entrants to break into the top 10.

“The technology behind online learning continues to advance, improving the learner experience,” added Quacquarelli. “But data on completion rates and employer feedback reinforces the view that the blended model including some physical meet ups is most effective.”

Thunderbird Director of Online Programs Josh Allen (’08) said the program has enjoyed rapid growth and is now attracting students from all over the world.

“Our association with America’s largest public university has boosted our online presence across the globe,” said Allen. “We are only just at the onset of what we hope to achieve by making Thunderbird’s 70-year record of delivering international business education more accessible to people around the world. It’s exciting for us to be recognized by QS for both quality and reputation.”
