Wissler to serve on federal court advisory panel

Roselle Wissler, research director of the College of Law’s Lodestar Dispute Resolution Program, has been named to an advisory group to the Federal Judicial Center’s (FJC) study of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) in the federal district courts.

The advisory group will work with FJC research staff to design a study to examine the costs, benefits and effects of ADR. The study was requested by two Judicial Conference committees, the Judicial Resources Committee and the Court Administration and Case Management Committee.

Wissler conducts empirical research on mediation, arbitration and other ADR processes. Her research and writing address various policy issues relating to ADR and examine the factors that contribute to the use and effectiveness of ADR processes. Wissler’s other research interests include alternate compensation systems and decision making concerning liability and damages in civil cases.
