Watercolors, mixed-media art to share walls at ASU Gammage
Watercolors by Phoenix artist Kimberly Harris and mixed-media works by members of the Arizona Artists Guild will be on display at ASU Gammage, Feb. 9-March 13.
Harris, also an architect, paints whimsical, playful colorful and graphic works. “I love to use pattern to animate the work and create a sense of whimsy. I enjoy pattern and repetition of shapes; they are interesting to me,” she said.
“I enjoy exploring a variety of materials to create my work. My initial focus has been watercolor on paper, but I have expanded to clay, wood and steel.”
Harris belongs to the Arizona Artists Guild, Arizona Watercolor Association, Contemporary Watercolorists of Arizona, Arizona Clay Association and 22 x 30 invitational critic group. She has created artwork for several local jazz festivals and murals for local malls. In her architecture career, she specializes in restaurants, nightclubs and themed retail.
The Arizona Artists guild’s portion of the exhibit will include acrylic, colored pencil, multimedia, pastel, oil and watercolor.
