This summer, get cool at the ASU Art Museum

For the 14th year, the ASU Art Museum in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts presents a refreshing summer exhibition.

Designed around appealing, educational themes and featuring hands-on activities for families, the summer exhibitions bring art to life in a place that’s very cool, in every sense: the ASU Art Museum.

This summer, the museum is proud to present Collecting Arizona, a tribute to our state in honor of its Centennial. The ASU Art Museum will showcase painters, photographers, ceramicists and sculptors from the region and artwork about Arizona from the museum’s rich and significant collection, including works by Susan Beiner, Bob Carey, Colin Chillag, Edward S. Curtis, Matthew Moore, Fritz Scholder, Kurt Weiser, Steven Yazzie, and many more.

Collecting Arizona: Selections from the ASU Art Museum will be on display June 9 through September 29.

The museum also will be highlighting its community partners, including Eight, Arizona PBS; Valley Metro; Arizona Commission on the Arts and the Tempe Arts Commission.

The summer also brings Family Fun Day, scheduled for Saturday, July 14, in conjunction with the exhibition. This event is a big art party for children, including a variety of theme-related hands-on art making projects, educational booths, free refreshments and entertainment in the form of performances by local musicians, dancers, magicians and puppeteers.
