Saks reappointed to National Conference of Lawyers and Scientists

Regents’ Professor Michael Saks was recently reappointed to serve a second term on the National Conference of Lawyers and Scientists (NCLS).

The NCLS is a joint advisory committee that was created by and exists to serve the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and the American Bar Association.

The AAAS appointed Saks to the NCLS, where he and the other appointees will meet three times per year to consider issues presented by parent organizations.

Saks’ research focuses on empirical studies of the legal system, especially decision-making, the behavior of the litigation system and the law’s use of science. Saks is the fourth-most-cited law-and-social-science scholar in the U.S., and has authored approximately 200 articles and books.
