M. Randall Levin, previously vice president of commercial development for SunCor Development Company, has been appointed senior vice president and managing director of assets at the ASU Foundation for A New American University. The addition to the leadership team was announced by R.F. “Rick” Shangraw Jr., chief executive officer of the ASU Foundation.

“Randy Levin brings a range of experience and hands-on knowledge of the real estate environment, from start to finish,” said Shangraw. “We know there are opportunities in our assets area that will further advance Arizona State University, and Randy will be the leader in identifying and cultivating those.

“We’re excited to have a leader of his stature and innovation introducing the foundation and this great university to new advocates and partners.”

In his position at SunCor, Levin oversaw design, finance, construction, leasing and marketing for millions of square feet of real estate. During his time at SunCor, one of his signature projects was the Hayden Ferry Lakeside/Marina Heights development immediately adjacent to ASU's Tempe campus and Sun Devil Stadium, which The Business Journal declared the “Development of the Decade.”

A graduate of the University of Arizona’s College of Architecture, Levin will use his experience in commercial real estate and expertise in architecture to lead the foundation in strategic positioning and real estate disposition.

“I have been fortunate to build a unique and broad knowledge base as a commercial developer for the past 25 years and as a registered architect and licensed real estate broker,” Levin said. “This has provided the necessary visionary, financial and deal-making skills to create innovative and successful real estate solutions for the foundation and ASU.

“Under President Michael Crow’s leadership, ASU has become a dynamic and innovative force not only locally, but nationally and internationally," Levin said. " Working with Rick Shangraw, the foundation board and ASU real estate development, we intend to build our real estate asset base as other leading universities have successfully done, enabling President Crow and ASU to further the vision of a New American University.”

Levin is looking forward to the continued expansion of the university and further development of the ASU SkySong Scottsdale Innovation Center project. He plans to use real estate as an investment vehicle that continues to build the foundation’s asset base.

“We want to continue the successes of our SkySong project in Scottsdale and other current endeavors,” he said. “Through trade partnering, we desire to engage in other commercial real estate endeavors not only in Arizona, but wherever ASU’s broad reach might go.”
