Orenstein to speak at Tempe Chamber of Commerce
Daniel Orenstein, affiliated faculty and Lincoln Fellow for Ethics and Health Policy at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, will speak at a Tempe Chamber of Commerce panel discussion on June 20.
The discussion, “The ACA – Compliance or Consequences,” will feature a panel consisting of Orenstein and two other legal experts who will address the ramifications of the ACA, or Obamacare, as it relates to businesses and individuals.
According to Orenstein, compliance issues, public health rationale, penalties, taxes and IRS enforcement will be addressed.
Orenstein’s current research and scholarship focus on issues of public health law and ethics, including emergency legal preparedness, public health emergency ethics, obesity control and prevention, and infectious disease policy. He also lectures on other health law and public health law topics, including health care reform and end-of-life issues.
