Miller speaks at law conference in D.C.

Professor Robert J. Miller, a faculty member of the Indian Legal Program, recently spoke at a poverty law conference at American University Washington College of Law.

The conference, “Poverty Law: Cases, Teaching, and Scholarship,” provided in-depth coverage of the most significant poverty law cases, fostered discussion of teaching poverty law or related courses, and explored poverty-related articles.

For his segment, Miller spoke about poverty in Indian Country and the creation of tribal economies as one possible solution.

Miller’s areas of expertise are civil procedure, federal Indian law, American Indians and international law, American Indian economic development and Native American natural resources. His published works include articles, books and book chapters on a wide array of federal Indian law issues and civil procedure.
