Marchant to attend medicine conference
ASU Regents’ Professor Gary Marchant will attend the 8th Annual MDx Next Conference on June 12 in Las Vegas.
The title of this year’s conference is “Gaining Ground in Molecular Testing and Genomic Medicine,” and according to event information, it will explore how clinical laboratories of all sizes are successfully using molecular testing despite the challenging regulatory and ever-changing business environments.
Marchant was invited to attend as one of several distinguished faculty from various colleges and laboratories around the country.
Marchant’s research interests include the use of genetic information in environmental regulation, risk and the precautionary principle, legal aspects of personalized medicine, and regulation of emerging technologies such as nanotechnology, neuroscience and biotechnology. He teaches courses in Environmental Law; Law, Science & Technology; Genetics and the Law; Biotechnology: Science, Law and Policy; and Nanotechnology Law & Policy. Marchant also is a senior sustainability scientist in ASU’s Global Institute of Sustainability and a professor in ASU’s School of Life Sciences.
