Marchant addresses regulatory reform conference in S. Korea
ASU Regents’ Professor Gary Marchant will deliver a lecture at the Korea Legislation Research Institute’s 22nd Anniversary International Conference, “Legislative Impact Assessment for Regulatory Reform: Achievements and Prospects,” Aug. 23, in Seoul, South Korea.
The title of Marchant’s talk is “The Impact of RIA (Regulatory Impact Analysis) on Regulatory Reform in the U.S.”
Marchant, faculty director of the College of Law’s Center for Law, Science & Innovation, teaches courses in Environmental Law, Law, Science & Technology, Genetics and the Law, Biotechnology: Science, Law and Policy, and Nanotechnology Law & Policy. His research interests include the use of genetic information in environmental regulation, risk and the precautionary principle, legal aspects of personalized medicine, and regulation of emerging technologies such as nanotechnology, neuroscience and biotechnology. Marchant also is a Senior Sustainability Scientist in ASU’s Global Institute of Sustainability and a professor in ASU’s School of Life Sciences.
