Lecture series brings renowned professor of education psychology to ASU
A new lecture series for ASU students and faculty promises to bring insights into mixing research methods in evaluating social inquiry. ASU’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College first Delbert and Jewell Lewis Literacy Research Lecture Series features internationally renowned researcher Jennifer C. Greene. The series is scheduled to take place Nov. 18-19 at ASU’s West campus.
Greene is a professor of educational psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign who has spent more than 30 years as an evaluation scholar-practitioner. She is perhaps best known for combining her scientific work with social involvement and critical social analysis. Greene is published widely in journals and books on program evaluation, and she has held leadership positions in the American Educational Research Association and the American Evaluation Association (AEA). She will serve as the president of the AEA for 2011.
“We are pleased to bring a well-respected researcher like Dr. Greene to ASU to interact with our students and faculty," said Mari Koerner, dean of the Teachers College. "Intellectual exchanges like this lecture series will build on our scholarship that in turn, positively impacts local, national and global communities and influences PreK-20 education,”
The activities surrounding Greene’s visit will take place at ASU’s West campus, 4701 West Thunderbird Rd, Phoenix. A list of the events is below:

The lecture series is designed to especially benefit students and faculty in the educational doctorate program in educational leadership and innovation. Students in the Ed.D. program in leadership and innovation are practicing education leaders. The program provides students with the opportunity to conduct action research that directly impacts the work they do in educational settings.
The lecture series is made possible because of an investment by Delbert and the late Jewell Lewis, former owners of KTVK/Channel 3, part of MAC America Communications.
