Law professor publishes manuscript on menu labeling
Professor James G. Hodge Jr. recently co-published a manuscript in the American Journal of Public Health, titled “Supplementing National Menu Labeling.”
The article explains the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s forthcoming national menu labeling regulations and how they are designed to help curb the national obesity epidemic by requiring calorie counts on restaurants’ menus.
In his work, Hodge proposes additional supplemental models that include nutritional facts or specific guidance to avoid consumer confusion.
Hodge collaborated with Lexi C. White, an ASU undergraduate, on the article.
