Karin speaks at bipartisan Capitol Hill briefing

Associate clinical professor Marcy Karin, director of the Work-Life Policy Unit and Civil Justice Clinic at the College of Law, gave a presentation on Feb. 5 at the Working Mother Media/Corporate Voices for Working Families Congressional Briefing in Washington, D.C.

Karin shared insights from the Clinic’s work on flexibility in congressional offices, and moderated a panel of senior staff and private-sector experts with the goal of providing guidance to freshman members of Congress, chiefs of staff and legislative directors on developing family-friendly workplace policies that support their staffs’ needs.

Karin’s research interests include workplace law, policy and practice, civil justice for military families and survivors of domestic violence and women’s legal history. She is an active member of the national work-life law and policy community. She is regularly invited to speak about the role of thoughtful public policy in this area and is listed in the Sloan Network’s Who’s Who in Work and Family.
