Jimenez wins second-straight title at Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

Sophomore Noemi Jimenez won her second-straight individual title, March 10, at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head Island, S.C. Previously, Jimenez took home individualist medalist honors at the Cal Classic, Feb. 25-26, to become the first Arizona State women's golfer to win back-to-back titles sinceLouise Stahle in 2005. Eight years ago, Stahle won the individual title at the ASU/PING Invitational and the Pac-10 Championships in back-to-back weekends.

Competing in a shotgun start on the fourth hole of the par-71, 6,211-yard Long Cove Golf Club, Jimenez recorded four birdies in her first five holes of the day. The sophomore finished the third round at 3-under for a three-day total of 4-under 209 (72-69-68) and was the only player to finish the tournament under par. LSU's Madelene Sangstrom finished in second place at even par, giving Jimenez a four-stroke margin of victory.

Junior Daniela Ordonez recorded her second top-five finish of the season, finishing fourth overall with a three-round total of 2-over 215 (73-71-71). Ordonez had previously finished second at the Dale McNamara Invitational.

As a team, the Sun Devils finished in fourth place with a three-round total of 35-over 887 (297-297-293). The Sun Devils maintained their consistency and shot the third-lowest round of the day on Sunday at 9-over.

Next up, Arizona State travels to the Aloha State to compete in the Anuenue Spring Break Classic, March 24-26, in Maui, Hawai'I, before returning home to host its annual PING/ASU Invitational at the ASU Karsten Golf Course from April 12-14.
