Hinshaw gives keynote at North Carolina law conference

Professor Art Hinshaw, clinical professor of law and director of Lodestar Mediation Clinic, gave a keynote address at the Annual North Carolina Bar Association Professionalism Conference on Dec. 13.

His talk, “The Honesty Conundrum: Negotiation Ethics and the Business of Lawyering,” focused on how perceptions of ethical and unethical negotiation behavior impact negotiation outcomes.

Hinshaw’s research and teaching interests lie in the field of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), primarily mediation and negotiation. He is active in the ADR community, having served on several academic and professional committees at the state and national levels. Currently, he serves as a member of the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Mediator Ethical Guidance.
