Gammage exhibit to feature Scottsdale Artists League
Members of the Scottsdale Artists League will exhibit oil, acrylic, watercolor and mixed medium artworks at ASU Gammage Dec. 1-Jan. 3.
In honor of the group’s 50th anniversary, 50 League members will show their work in Gammage.
Scottsdale Artists League was founded in 1961 as a nonprofit organization by a group of Arizona artists. It has grown to an organization with several hundred members that is a major art association in the local arts community.
The League’s mission is “to encourage the practice of art; promote and advance the interest, appreciation and application of all forms of art; to foster good fellowship, cooperation and development among artists and other interested members of the community. SAL holds juried and non-juried shows, paint-outs, art workshops and monthly meetings, and provides scholarships for art students. The group is open to amateurs, professionals, and non-artists.
Exhibit hours at ASU Gammage are 1 to 4 p.m., Mondays, or by appointment. Due to rehearsals, event set-up, performances, special events and holidays, it is advisable to call (480) 965-6912 or (480) 965-0458 to ensure viewing hours since they are subject to cancellation without notice.
Metered visitor parking is available around the perimeter of ASU Gammage. Entrance is through the East Lobby Doors at the Box Office.
