Bender interviewed about current events on KTAR

Paul Bender, law professor and dean emeritus, was interviewed on KTAR-FM in a June 1 segment on The Think Tank.

Bender and hosts Mike O'Neil and Mike Russell discussed current events, including the Tea Party/IRS controversy, the Arizona Legislature’s stance on Medicaid and the U.S. Supreme Court’s decisions affecting Arizona’s Proposition 200, California’s Proposition 8 and the federal Defense of Marriage Act.

As a former Principal Deputy Solicitor General and U.S. Supreme Court law clerk, Bender brings his unique insights into the workings and decisions of the Court.

“Arizona recently has had more than its fair share of cases in the Supreme Court,” said Bender. “The Arizona Legislature sometimes seems to think it is at war with the U.S. government.”
