ASU law fellows give patient care presentation


Veda Collmer and Leila F. Barraza, fellows in the Public Health Law and Policy Program at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, gave a presentation to the Correctional Healthcare Partners (CHP) Working Group in Florence, Ariz. on Friday, June 21.

The CHP was founded in 1996 to guide and support provider practices with efforts to better manage the quality and cost of patient care.

Collmer and Barraza’s presentation was titled, “Arizona Correctional Facility Infectious Disease Privacy and Reporting Laws.”

Collmer is a visiting attorney in the Network for Public Health Law – Western Region, housed at the College of Law.

Barraza is a 2008 College of Law alumna, a former scholar in the Center for Law, Science & Innovation, and a research assistant, having conducted legal research on autism and vaccine-related litigation.
