ASU dominates in opening round of Brown Tournament
The Arizona State water polo returned from their bye weekend with a dominant 14-2 performance in the first match of the Brown Tournament against the Marist Red Foxes.
Senior Shannon Haas led the way for the Sun Devils, putting ASU up 3-1 in the commencing quarter, scoring three of four goals in the first quarter alone.
With a career-high 54 goals on the season, Haas now moves into the top-10 on ASU’s all-time single-season scoring list.
Alicia Brightwell and Daisy Carter added two goals each for ASU, with nine Sun Devils overall adding to the offensive clinic.
E.B. Keeve had an impressive 11 saves in just two and half quarters of action for the Sun Devils. Ianeta Hutchinson would enter the game for Keeve and adding six saves, holding the Red Foxes scoreless in the second and third quarters.
ASU improves to 20-5 on the season and returns to action Saturday, April 6 (12:30 p.m. ET) against Brown University in their second of five games in the Brown Tournament.
