Each year, graduate students in the Arizona State University School of Music, Dance and Theatre dance program have the opportunity to present their works in progress on the stage at the ASU Tempe campus. This year’s Graduate Project Presentations featured so many incredible choreographers that the show was divided into two weekends. Each weekend will feature different pieces; audiences should plan to attend both shows so they can see all 17 original pieces.
Dance Graduate Project Presentations I & II
7:30 p.m.
Weekend I: March 27-28
Weekend II: April 3-4
Margaret Gisolo Dance Theatre
In the first weekend of the show, audiences will see works by j. bouey, JP Alejandro, Grace Crain, Aubry Dalley, Rinku Das, Rae Grey, Alyssa Karayanes, Brandon Lombardo and Lane Swensen.
The second weekend will feature work by Solana Armatage, Mitchell Castro, Aubry Dalley, Garrett Keeto, Yawen Luo, Yi Peng, Diana Toledo and Valkyrie Yao.
Because each choreographer brings their own dance style and choreographic perspective, both weekends will showcase a range of dance genres. The performances include everything from interactive digital art to the spoken word, and a stage filled with balloons to an exploration of breath. Come experience the artistry and creativity of ASU dance graduate students. Tickets must be purchased online through the Herberger Institute Box Office.
