ASU honors Joshua Daymude with Outstanding Master’s Mentor award for exceptional student support

Arizona State University’s Graduate College has honored Joshua Daymude, assistant professor at the Biodesign Center for Biocomputing, Security, and Society, with the Outstanding Master’s Mentor Award for his exceptional support of graduate students.
With a joint appointment in both the Biodesign Institute and the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence under the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, Daymude is committed to fostering a sense of belonging, particularly for underrepresented students in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).
His dedication spans all academic levels, from K-12 partnerships to advising postdoctoral scholars. He provides hands-on research experiences for undergraduate and graduate students, preparing them for careers in academia and industry.
Since joining ASU in 2021, Daymude, in collaboration with the rest of the center, has taken a primary role in developing the Biocomputing Scholars Program, and has engaged over 60 undergraduates in interdisciplinary research while prioritizing gender parity. His mentorship has guided students to top industry roles at companies such as Meta and institutions like MIT.
