Pride Prom attendees made a grand entrance, strolling down the red carpet before passing under a towering balloon arch and stepping into the Cooley Ballroom, where the DJ kept the energy high and the dance floor packed all night.

Pride Prom has become a signature event hosted by Barrett, The Honors College, bringing students together for a night of celebration and connection at Arizona State University’s Polytechnic campus. This year’s “Around the World” theme was inspired by the 39 countries that recognize same-sex marriage.

“The theme was chosen not only to celebrate the accomplishments of the LGBTQ+ community but to educate about the history and current state of same-sex marriage legalization,” said Josh Albin, program coordinator senior at Barrett Polytechnic.

Albin, who founded Pride Prom, is a Barrett Polytechnic alumni who continues to lead the event. This year’s celebration welcomed students, faculty and staff from across all ASU campuses and online. Dean Tara Williams was among the attendees, joining in the festivities and engaging with students throughout the evening.

With its globally inspired décor, music, cuisine and vibrant atmosphere, Pride Prom offered an unforgettable experience. Interactive activities like selfie stations, DIY art projects and caricature drawings encouraged creativity and connection, adding to the night’s excitement. By blending tradition with a global perspective, this annual event continues to bring people together in a meaningful and memorable way.
