Applications for Barrett Honors College student scholarships now open
More than 50 merit and need-based scholarships available
Now is the time for students in Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University to apply for scholarships available exclusively to them.
There are more than 50 merit- and need-based scholarships for Barrett Honors College students.
Applications for scholarships covering the 2025-26 academic year opened on November 1 and will close on February 1, 2025.

Need based aid requires that a current Free Application for Federal Student Aid form be on file. Students are strongly encouraged to submit a FAFSA, even if they are unsure that need-based financial assistance will be available.
International students who are unable to file a FAFSA are asked to complete a budget form provided during the application process.
Scholarships support a wide array of study, research and honors thesis work.
For example, the Bidstrup Foundation and Barrett Research Undergraduate Fellowship are tailored for students engaging is research with a faculty member. Recipients receive a bi-weekly paycheck to support their research efforts guided by a faculty director.
Interested in research about the Hispanic culture and community? The Quesada Research Award supports student research that increases the understanding of Hispanic culture, influences the Hispanic community, and that promotes the interdisciplinary research work of Hispanic students.
This scholarship is available to Hispanic students working on their honors thesis or any Barrett student whose thesis focuses on a Hispanic-related topic.
The Samantha Stachel Play Big Scholarship recognizes students who have achieved much in the face of their life challenges. Applicants should display academic success, leadership and character, and not let adversity define them.
The Garcia Family Foundation Scholarship is for incoming honors students. First-year and transfer Barrett Honors College students who are Arizona residents with demonstrated financial need are eligible to apply. DACA students are encouraged to apply. Students may apply to renew the scholarship each year that they are enrolled at the honors college.

- Give strong examples of your best qualities and skills, such as leadership, and how you put them into action.
- Do not skip questions or give vague answers.
- Be truthful and accurate.
- Ask for help from someone who knows you well.
- Get started on your application early.
- Proofread your application.
- Do not miss the deadline to submit your application.
