Edson College adds to leadership team with new assistant deans
The leadership team at Arizona State University’s Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation is expanding. This summer three new assistant dean roles were created to advance the college’s robust goals around faculty recruitment and retention and community and clinical partnerships.
The new assistant deans are Kelly Davis, Danielle Sebbins and Therese Speer. All three have worked as faculty, program directors and associate directors at Edson College for years.
“These leaders have each contributed so much to Edson College's growth and reputation. As they take on these new assistant dean positions, I am confident they will exceed expectations and continue to make the college a premier destination for nursing and health education and research,” said Edson College Dean Judy Karshmer.
In addition to the new assistant deans, Earl Lee’s title was adjusted to come into alignment with university guidance. Lee’s title is now assistant dean of Inclusive Excellence and they will continue to lead initiatives to foster a sense of belonging toward health equity outcomes and more.
Professor Kelly Davis will serve as the new assistant dean for faculty affairs aimed at supporting tenured and tenure and research-track faculty.
In this role, Davis will guide faculty through important milestones like recruitment, promotion, and tenure. She will work alongside Associate Dean David Coon to foster the success and development of these faculty.
Clinical Associate Professor Dani Sebbins is the new assistant dean for practice and clinical education.
As part of her role, Sebbins will work closely with faculty and health care partners, to enrich student learning experiences and advance the college’s clinical programs and community partnerships.
Clinical Associate Professor Therese Speer is the new assistant dean for faculty affairs focused on career-track faculty.
A key component of Speer’s role will be to oversee hiring, onboarding and career planning. She will work closely with Associate Dean Kathy Kenny to support the success and growth of career-track faculty ensuring they have the resources and guidance they need to thrive.
