Annual alumni golf event returns to Papago Park

The Student Alumni Association, in collaboration with the ASU Alumni Association, is gearing up for the fourth annual Alissa Serignese Maroon and Gold Golf Classic, scheduled to take place on Tuesday, April 16, at Papago Golf Club.
In a tribute to the late Alissa Serignese, a distinguished "double Devil" (’95 BA and ’17 MEd), the event has been renamed to honor her memory and enduring contributions to the Arizona State University community.
Serignese, an avid golfer and a fervent supporter of meaningful causes such as student scholarships and cancer research, left a mark during her tenure as the vice president of the ASU Alumni Association and the Office of University Events for 13 years. Recognized as an outstanding leader, role model and devoted Sun Devil, Serignese played a pivotal role in leading constituent relations, university events, the Alumni Association’s student programming, scholarships and alumni programs.
Christine Wilkinson, the president and CEO of the ASU Alumni Association, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, “The Alissa Serignese Maroon and Gold Golf Classic is a wonderful chance to interact with current SAA students and alumni community leaders. We are proud to have renamed this event to honor such a committed leader of the alumni association, and we look forward to seeing everyone in their maroon and gold come out for a fun day of golf while raising funds for our students.”
The Student Alumni Association actively promotes spirit, pride and tradition at ASU. Embracing and perpetuating some of the university's oldest traditions, including Echo from the Buttes, Guard the "A" and the “No Pity for the Kitty” T-shirt exchange, the association plays a crucial role in fostering a sense of community and tradition among Sun Devils.
Students from both the SAA and the ASU Alumni Association actively contribute to the planning and execution of the tournament, ensuring its success and meaningful impact. This year, the event offers registrations for foursomes to participate in either a nine-hole casual tournament in the afternoon or a more competitive 18-hole tournament in the morning. Companies looking to get involved have the opportunity to explore various sponsorship opportunities ranging from $2,500 to $5,000.
