Arizona State University’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College (MLFTC) continues to receive top rankings for its online master’s degree programs from U.S. News & World Report.
In U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 Best Online Graduate Education Programs, MLFTC is ranked No. 7 overall, and several of the college’s master’s programs are ranked in the top five.
Meredith Toth, assistant dean for digital learning at MLFTC, noted that the excellence of the college’s online offerings “covers a wide range of what it means to be in education."
"If you want to be a practicing educator working directly with children and young learners, we have a great program," she said. "If you want to be a principal or other kind of school or system leader, we have a great program for you. If you want to work at the intersection of learning design and technology, we're really good at that, as well.”
Three MLFTC programs ranked among the top five in the nation:
- Early childhood education and gifted education helped MLFTC secure the No. 3 ranking among Best Online Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction Programs.
- The Master of Education in educational leadership (principalship) is ranked No. 2 among Best Online Master’s in Educational Administration and Supervision Programs.
- The Master of Education in learning design and technologies is ranked No. 4 among Best Online Master’s in Educational Instruction and Media Design Programs.
In addition, MLFTC’s programs in autism spectrum disorders and applied behavior analysis received a No. 6 ranking among Online Master’s in Special Education Programs. MLFTC also ranked No. 6 for Best Online Master’s in Education Programs for Veterans.
MLFTC offers its graduate-level teacher preparation programs online through flexible formats designed to meet the needs of individual learners and specialized cohorts. This approach allows students enrolled in teacher-certification programs to pursue their coursework online while balancing existing personal and work obligations. Students will still complete their professional residencies in person at schools near where they live.

Our online programs are central to that endeavor.”
