The start of the school year is fast approaching, which means the ASU Alumni Association is launching their sixth annual Teacher Packs program.
Each year, the association thanks teachers by providing complimentary maroon-and-gold packs that help encourage Sun Devil spirit across the country through ASU-branded classroom supplies.
First launched in 2017, the Teacher Packs program has grown year over year, with 4,000 teacher packs being sent in 2022 to alumni in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and eight countries. These alumni educators represent 19 ASU colleges and range from new graduates to tenured educators graduating in 1963.
This year, the ASU Alumni Association aims to break that record and reach 5,000 alumni educators across the globe.
“The ASU Alumni Association and its university partners are proud to celebrate our alumni educators," said Christine K. Wilkinson, president and CEO of the association. “They serve as excellent examples of how a Sun Devil can enable student success, no matter where they are or what grade they teach. We hope these materials and resources help them show off their Sun Devil pride and inspire their students to pursue a college degree.”
Items in this year’s teacher packs feature submissions from across ASU, including a Psyche spacecraft paper model, the Sun Devil pitchfork hand sign, ASU stickers, ASU admission information for high school students, an Old Main hand fan, notepads, keychains and an ASU license plate sign for the classroom.
Digital resources for teachers will also be available on the Teacher Packs website, including literature on civic education, continuing education opportunities for teachers, and library selections written or edited by ASU staff, faculty, students and alumni.
Teachers who post on social media with the hashtag #sundevilteacher will be entered into a drawing for more ASU-themed swag.
All ASU alumni K–12 educators are encouraged to sign up today at alumni.asu.edu/sundevilteacherpack for their complimentary pack and to browse additional resources from their alma mater.
