ASU students at Poly show off their projects

Students in the Engineering Technology programs in the College of Technology and Innovation at Arizona State University’s Polytechnic campus are exhibiting their spring projects May 6, from 10 a.m. to noon, in the Student Union Ballroom B.

On display are 15 sponsored projects that range from the humanitarian efforts of GlobalResolve and defense related applications including autonomous aircraft and helicopter landing pads, to a medical application highlighting an automated robotic therapy systems for MS patients and green applications including alternative propulsion systems for the Grand Canyon Outfitters Association. Many of the projects are representative of the multi-disciplined teams, made up of students from the departments of Engineering Technology and Engineering. 

“This event demonstrates the unique capabilities of students studying engineering technology at the Polytechnic campus,” said Jerry Gintz, event organizer and faculty member in the Department of Engineering Technology. “Many of these projects are sponsored by corporations or individuals interested in working closely with ASU students to develop solutions to complex problems facing the world today.” 

The ASU Advanced Technology Innovation Center (ATIC) joined the collaboration, assisting students in developing project administration expertise for two of the sponsored projects.

The event is free and all are welcome to see what the students have been up to this semester.  Refreshments will be provided.
