The ASU Enterprise Partners board of directors was honored as a recipient of the AGB John W. Nason Award for Board Leadership at the Association of Governing Boards' Foundation Leadership Forum in San Diego this week.
Every year, the award honors the achievements of boards that have contributed to the success of their institutions and furthered the goals of higher education through innovation and exemplary leadership. Boards honored represent the highest level of excellence, going above and beyond to advance their institutions in ways that truly matter.
“The generous award and consistent commitment of our board is obvious in all that they do for ASU Enterprise Partners,” said Dan Dillon, CEO, ASU Enterprise Partners. Dillon was named CEO in January, when founding CEO R.F. “Rick” Shangraw Jr. stepped down.
The award is named for higher education leader John W. Nason, recognized for his work as chair of the National Japanese American Student Relocation Council. Nason helped more than 4,000 interned students across the U.S. continue their college studies during World War II.
“All of our members demonstrated exceptional discernment and innovation in restructuring the organization to better serve ASU, and each played a significant role in accelerating the organization’s many subsequent accomplishments,” said Bill Post, board chair.
AGB’s membership includes boards from more than 2,000 public and private institutions and institutionally related foundations.
“To earn their top recognition is a tremendous accomplishment and true testament to the transformative leadership of the members,” said Post.
Recipients will be publicly recognized in April at the AGB’s National Conference on Trusteeship.
