ASU Gammage, Schnepf Farms invite young, old to search for Cinderella’s glass slipper
Every Saturday in October, one glass slipper will be hidden in the Schnepf Farms pumpkin patch to promote Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella" at ASU Gammage from Dec. 19–24.
Everyone loves pumpkins, including Cinderella. We’re told she was out searching for the perfect pumpkin for a new carriage at Schnepf Farms’ pumpkin patch in Queen Creek and accidently lost her shoe!
The young and the young-at-heart are invited to scour the Schnepf Farms pumpkin patch every Saturday in October for a chance to find Cinderella’s glass slipper and have the opportunity to enter to win two tickets to Rodgers and Hammerstein’s "Cinderella" at ASU Gammage opening night Dec. 19. If you find the slipper, bring it to Schnepf Farms Guest Services to complete your entry.
“I’m very excited about this promotion because it’s a perfect fit, especially when you grew up loving Cinderella,” said Schnepf Farms owner Carrie Schnepf. “And what better place to be searching for a glass slipper than in a pumpkin patch."
In addition to the magical scavenger hunt, Schnepf Farms is hosting its annual Pumpkin and Chili Party every Thursday through Sunday from Oct. 5 through Oct. 29. The farm is open Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is $20 a person at the door, $15 with advance purchase at any Fry’s Food Store or free for retired and active military service members with military ID.
“This is going to be a lot of fun,” Schnepf said. “This is just another thing that people can do when they come out during October for the Pumpkin and Chili Party and make some fabulous, wonderful family memories.”
Admission includes hayrides, rollercoasters, a petting zoo, various shows, fireworks and more. There will be an additional charge for dinner, train rides, paintball, pumpkins and select arts and crafts.
“This community partnership has been a blast to work on,” said Kari Amarosso, ASU Gammage public relations manager. “For every adult and child who loves fairy tales, this scavenger hunt is a dream come true. Not only are you finding Cinderella’s treasured slipper, you may have the opportunity to win tickets to the show and see the magical story live.”
