Mauricio Arias
Mauricio Arias is a Doctor of Music Arts piano performance candidate in the Arizona State University Herberger Institute School of Music. In April 2010, Mauricio represented ASU and Colombia at the live preliminaries of the Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland. The same month, he gave a recital in Poznan, Poland after being invited by the Adam Mickiewicz University Institute of the Polish Language's School of Polish Language and Culture for Foreign Students.
In May, Mauricio was awarded second prize at the Peabody Mason International Piano Competition in Boston, Massachusetts. During June 2010, he was sponsored by the Embassy of Poland in Colombia to give a recital commemorating the 200th anniversary of Chopin's birth.
