Evan Tobias

Evan Tobias, assistant professor of music education in the School of Music, recently published a co-authored article with ASU Masters of Music Education alumni Abigail VanKlompenberg and Catherine Reid in "Mountain Lake Reader: Conversations on the Study and Practice of Music Teaching."

The article, entitled "Reflecting on changes in practice: Integrating participatory culture in our classrooms," investigates how music educators have applied principles of digital culture and participatory culture to transform the structure of a music classroom. It also includes these teachers' perspectives on music teaching and learning. This research was a result of the Consortium for Innovation and Transformation in Music Education's (CITME) Contemporary Musicianship initiative.
