Arizona State University alum Sen. Martín Quezada (D-Ariz.) will attend ASU’s American Dream Academy (ADA) Community Forum on March 30 at Trevor G. Browne High School in Phoenix.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the American Dream Academy. To mark this important milestone, Quezada, an advocate for education, will speak to the parents about the value of an education at one of the many schools that will participate in the American Dream Academy this year.
“Arizona State University and the American Dream Academy are honored to host Senator Quezada at one of our community forums,” said Lorenzo Chavez, Access ASU director of family initiatives. “We are excited that our students and parents have the opportunity to engage in a meaningful dialogue about the importance of education with Senator Quezada, as well as having him reinforce the lessons our ADA families are learning in the program.”
Quezada will speak to more than 60 parents and students, sharing his educational journey and commending participants for supporting their child’s education and their commitment in attending American Dream Academy classes.
The American Dream Academy is a parent-centered, eight-week program offered through ASU at various schools throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area and has graduated more than 33,000 parents since its inception in 2006.
Through American Dream Academy, parents gain an understanding of how they can engage in their child’s education in the school and at home in order to prepare for a college education.
Quezada is a native of Phoenix and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Administration of Justice in 2001 and his Juris Doctor degree from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at ASU in 2008.
He has been an advocate in the local community, serving on numerous boards and commissions including the ASU Los Diablos Latino Alumni Association, the Maryvale Village Planning Committee, the West Phoenix Revitalization Community Advisory Board and the Los Abogados Hispanic Bar Association Board of Directors.
